I have just recieved word that my good friend and art mentor, Guenther Reiss AKA “MY Obi Wan” passed into the Light yesterday. His appears to have been a peaceful passing for which I am grateful. Guether came to visit us a few days before Christmas, giving me an impromptu art lesson and talking for several hours before he left to fulfill his family obligations. He looked really healthy and good at that time. His sense of humor was evident and he trusted me enough to give me a very honest critique of my work, telling me he had high expectations of me. I will be at Arizona Fine Art Expo this year. I am dedicating my studio and Expo time to his memory. I am in Arizona because of Guenther. This is my gift to him.
